"Jungle Book" movie 2015 cast members have been announced, with actor Bill Murray leading the classic Disney remake as the lovable bear Baloo, and promising newcomer Neel Sethi as jungle child Mowgli.

According to a report from People, Disney will release the "Jungle Book" movie 2015 remake by October of next year. The story is originally based on the 1894 classic by Rudyard Kipling, which Disney released an animated feature of in 1967.

Bill Murray as Baloo will have the "Saturday Night Live" alum playing the laid-back bear known in the animated feature for singing the Oscar-nominated Best Song "The Bare Necessities". The said character was voiced in the 1967 animated feature by the late Phil Harris, said the People report .

Playing Mowgli in the "Jungle Book" 2015 movie will be 10-year-old Neel Sethi of New York, who was chosen from among thousands of kids who auditioned for the role, said a report from Variety.

This will be the first acting role of Neel Sethi, who will be the only live actor seen on screen in the "Jungle Book" 2015 movie. The rest of the characters will be created as computer-generated creatures, said Variety.

The "Jungle Book" movie 2015 will be directed by Jon Favreau, who described Neel Sethi as someone who has "tremendous talent and charisma", saying: "Casting is the most important element of any film and finding the right kid to play Mowgli was imperative. There is a lot riding on (Neel Sethi's) little shoulders, and I'm confident he can handle it."

Further describing the newcomer in the Variety report is casting director Sarah Finn, who said Neel Sethi as Mowgli embodies "the heart, humor, and daring of the character."

"He's warm and accessible, yet also has an intelligence well beyond his years and impressed us all with his ability to hold his own in any situation. Even though he has no professional acting experience, his natural charisma and instincts jumped out at us," the casting director explains.

Other "Jungle Book" movie 2015 cast members include Christopher Walken as King Louie, Lupita Nyong'o as mother wolf Raksh, Scarlett Johansson as the python Kaa, Idris Elba as evil tiger Shere Khan and Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito as wolf pack leader Akela.
