Cristiano Ronaldo has opened a window of opportunity for Manchester United fans as he said that he might go back to his first club, because this is football, and he loved it there.

The 29- year- old had his debut in Manchester United when he was just 18 years old. He spent six seasons in that Premier League club before transferring to the La Liga in 2009 for Real Madrid.

"It was like my second family there, so I'll not forget that the people treat me good," the Portugal star said. "I love Manchester United and to go back ... with football you never know.

"Manchester United are one of my favorite clubs, everyone knows that every time when I speak about Real Madrid I speak about Manchester United, I loved it there," Ronaldo told the press.

Ronaldo will not be able to play against his former team in a preseason friendly in Michigan this week, because of some health concersn.

Nevertheless, he says that he sees Man Utd alongside his current club, Real Madrid, as favorites in the upcoming season.

"I was 18 years old when I joined, I won everything there, the people treat me like a god there so I appreciate that and, in the future, who knows."

However, he does not say that he hates Real.

"Of course, I'm happy at Real Madrid - it's my home, my club - but Manchester United treated me unbelievable so you never know," he said.

Talking about Manchester United's performance with new coach, Louis van Gaal, he said:

"It will be a better season for sure. My feeling is Van Gaal is a fantastic coach, he showed that all the time for Netherlands, the team played unbelievable at the World Cup, and I hope that Man United come back like the people know."
