According to Vanity Fair, the new U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador might have been crashing the Web site as she uses her powers for good in this cheeky response to a Turkish politician who expressed his disapproval of women laughing in public by posting a picture in online.
The news referred to a photo posted by Emma Watson on Twitter as a sign of her reaction to the speech:
On July 28, Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc discussed about the "moral corruption" in Turkey, which some source said reffering to women's public displays of joy evidently contribute.
His exact statement during his speech:
"A woman should be chaste. She should know the difference between public and private. She should not laugh in public. "Where are our girls, who slightly blush, lower their heads and turn their eyes away when we look at their face, becoming the symbol of chastity?"
It was reported that the opposition presidential candidate Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu tweeted: "If there's one thing we need it's the hearty laughter of women."
