The Real Life 'Notebook' makes headlines.
Surprisingly, a real-life scenario may just rival the 2004 film, "The Notebook.", as reported by In Touch Weekly.
An elderly couple from Bakersfield, Calif., who were married for 62 years ,died on the same day, only hours away.
Don and Maxine Simpson's granddaughter, Melissa Sloan, only had admiration for her grandparents' love:
"It's absolutely beautiful and the story is beautiful,"
"I knew in my heart, this is what's supposed to happen. Grandma and Grandpa are supposed to be together-and Grandpa and Grandpa are going to die together."
The real life 'Notebook' couple met each other while out bowling during their younger years. Later on they married, and had two sons.
Melissa went on to say:
"That's all that Don ever wanted,"
"To be with his beautiful wife. He adored my grandmother, loved her to the ends of the Earth."
Coincidentally, when Don broke his hip a few weeks prior, Maxine's condition from cancer battle began to get worse, too.
The couple's granddaughters made efforts to make them share a room together.
"When Grandma woke up and saw him, they held hands,"
"They knew that they were next to each other."
Melissa said.
The end was inevitable eventually, as Melissa further narrated:
"I walked them out with her body, closed the door, walked back in to check on Grandpa and he had quit breathing,"
"As soon as her body left the room, he left with her. They passed away four hours apart from each other."
Truly this is the real life 'Notebook' scenario you won't be able to forget!
