The latest "Ghostbusters 3" spoilers came from Dan Aykroyd who revealed to The Today Show that there will be a sequel to the classic 80's film. The 62-year old actor told Carson Daly, "It looks like we'll be in pre-production in the spring now, from what I'm hearing. It should be good."
It will be great to see the three main actors return on the big screen, but since Harold Ramis already passed away then fans have to settle for Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray. However, it seemed that the 63-year old actor has no intention of coming back.
One of the disappointing "Ghostbusters 3" spoilers was reported by The Telegraph a few months ago. According to the website, "At this point it's in suspended animation. The studio, the director Ivan Reitman, and Harold Ramis feel there must be a way to do it, but Bill Murray will not do the movie."
Dan Aykroyd revealed why Bill Murray won't do the movie. He said, "He doesn't want to be involved. He's got six kids, houses all over America. He golfs in these tournaments where they pay him to turn up and have a laugh. He's into this life and living it. I know we'd have a lot of fun [but] I can't be mad at him. He's a friend first, a colleague second. We have a deep personal relationship that transcends business and he doesn't want to know."
Another person who called it quits is director Ivan Reitman, who worked on the previous "Ghostbusters" movies. He told SpinOff Online, "I just decided a few weeks ago, two days after I came back from Chicago for his [Harold Ramis] funeral, that yeah, it's time ... I suddenly felt excited about producing a movie with other people directing Ghostbusters, and seeing the opportunity for new ideas and kind of a fresh take for some of the things we built into this draft."
Based on that statement, the latest "Ghostbusters 3" spoilers is about getting "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig to work on the new film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The film will be a reboot focusing on female Ghostbusters." However sources claim that there are still no formal negotiations between Sony and Feig.
Since Dan Aykroyd confirmed that he is returning in "Ghostbusters 3", we may be seeing a "Charlie's Angels" kind of movie where he recruits three women to hunt ghosts. What do you think of the latest "Ghostbusters 3" spoilers? Which actresses do you think will best fit as the female Ghostbusters?
