The upcoming drama "Discovery of Love" boasts yet another actor-actress reunion in what has to be The Year of the K-Drama Reunion."
This time it's a reunion between actress Jung Yumi, last seen in the 2013 drama "Goddess of the Workplace" and Shinhwa's Eric, last seen in the 2011 drama Spy Myung Wol.
The actors previously starred together in the 2007 drama "Que Sera Sera." But unlike some of this year's other reunions, the actors in "Discovery of Love" will play characters that also reunite.
In fact it's a story of a relationship that might be better the second time around.
Jung Yumi plays a furniture designer named Han Yeo Reum. She's has dated the same guy for a few years but its not going that well. And then her ex shows up.
Eric plays Kang Tae Ha, her ex-boyfriend. They are exes but they work in the same field. He's the head of an interior design firm.
They broke up years ago but he has suddenly come to realize how important Han Yeo Reum is to him and he wants to have another chance at winning her affections. It's prefect timing. Just when her romantic life is in a slump, he provides a tempting alternative to her current troubles.
And to make things messier, her current boyfriend foolishly has no problems with his girlfriend being friends with her ex. He thinks exes can be friends and not fall in love a second time. But his cool approach can only end in an all-out war between the rivals.
The romantic comedy also stars Sung Joon, last seen in "I Need Romance 3." He plays Nam Ha Jin, Han Yeo Reum's current boyfriend, a cool, collected plastic surgeon.
Yoon Jini plays the second lead. The actress currently has a role in "It's Okay It's Love" and before that was seen in "Reply 1994." In "Discovery of Love" she plays Ahn Ah Rim, a woman who has never forgotten her first love and that love is Nam Ha Jim.
The comedy also stars Kim Seul Gi and Yoon Hyun Min.
Descriptions of the drama say that the character Han Yeo Reum lives at home with her mom, a drama writer, so viewers can expect lots of "life is not like a drama" jokes. And then they can expect the romantic entanglements to be drama-worthy.
"Discovery of Love" will follow "Trot Lovers" in August.
