Victoria Beckham will auction designer clothes she has previously worn in various events to benefit women with HIV, but may not include ones made by Alexander McQueen as the designer banned the singer/fashion icon from wearing any of his creations.
Ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is joining hands with TheOutnet.com to make an auction and profit from more than 600 designer dresses and pieces she has worn over the years in order to raise fund and help women with HIV.
According to The Telegraph, Victoria valued each one of the clothes as those were especially designed for her and are memorable.
"Every single piece that I have put in to be sold brought back a lot of memories," explained Victoria Beckham in an accompanying video. "A lot of really, really happy memories of myseld and David, of myself and the children, of different events that I've been to. A lot of these pieces have been made especially for me, by the designers; these haven't all have been bought off the shelf."
The amount to be raised in Victoria Beckham's auction of designer dresses will be sent to Mother2Mothers, a non-profit organization for women who have HIV.
While Victoria Beckham has auctioned designer clothes, the late fashion designer Lee "Alexander" McQueen banned the singer-turned-fashion designer from wearing his designed clothes, The Independent reported.
The late Alexander McQueen's lover, Archie, said that the noted fashion designer has expressed her disgust over Victoria Beckham being recognized as a fashion designer.
'What the f*** does she know about fashion? She's a pop star, and she can't even sing,'" Archie quoted McQueen as saying.
Although Victoria Beckham paid a tribute to Alexander McQueen on his death in 2010, The Independent reported that McQueen stated before that Victoria Beckham will never get a free Alexander McQueen-designed clothes piece.
In the meantime, Victoria Beckham's designer clothes auction will be held on August 20 to 25, and interested buyers must first register on TheOutnet.com's website to be able to participate and purchase one of the clothes.
