Actress Olivia Wilde recently graced the pages of Glamour Magazine's September issue, where she posed with her newborn son in an elegant fashion spread.
The "Rush" actress who wore a Roberto Cavalli couture was photographed at a diner booth, breastfeeding her son, according to NY Daily News.
"Breast-feeding is the most natural thing. Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn't complete without my identity as a mother. Now it feels like Otis should always be on my breast," the 30-year-old doting mom said.
Jason Sudeikis' wife also revealed what it was like posing as a new mother. "It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we've been discussing - that we know we can be. You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed."
However, some mothers who have breastfed their babies in public stressed that the act itself isn't at all as glamorous as how Wilde presented it to be.
One mom from Harlem narrated an instance when she got into trouble for breastfeeding her twins, Tallis and Vivian, the same publication noted.
"You walk into this mothering thing and you think, well, the baby knows what to do, my body knows what to do, this is natural... and no one tells you that it's f*cking hard. Everything does not go perfectly from the start," Amy Palmisano said.
Another mom from New Jersey reiterated that breastfeeding is actually very tough especially in the beginning, NY Daily News noted.
"Breast-feeding is so hard in the beginning. No one really tells you that," Josephine Giugliano explained.
Meanwhile, Wilde clarified to the Glamour Magazine, "I mean, I certainly don't really look like that when I'm breastfeeding. And there's usually a diaper involved."
On Tuesday, the "House MD" actress tweeted, "Otis ordered milkshakes. Luckily, I had some on me. Then he peed on my dress. Good kid. #boobfood #whennaturecalls."
