Apart from the much anticipated launch of the iPhone 6 this year, Apple fans are also excited about to know more about the iWatch's specs and release date.
Although Apple has yet to announce the launch of the wearable iOS device, experts are speculating that it will be released along with the iPhone 6. If those rumors prove to be true, the iWatch will be released on September 9.
And although it could be assumed that the iWatch will be released not later than this year, other reports suggest that the new gadget will be sold in limited quantities.
According to Christian Post, "The iWatch's limited availability puts the device's production at around 3 million units at the end of 2014. The prediction was made by Ming-Chi Kuo, a famous analyst of KGI Securities, based on the recent supply chain checks. Market predictions, however, put the iWatch's production number at 5 million to 10 million units by the end of the year."
Kuo further added that the slow production of the iWatch is caused by the limited availability of the sapphire glass. Because of this limitation, he also shared that some units won't have the sapphire glass, but will have Gorilla glass displays instead.
Christian Post continued, "The release of the iWatch may just depend on when the iPhone 6 will be made available in the market. Apple's plans to release the iPhone 6, then the iWatch, the OS X Yosemite, the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, the iPad Pro, and lastly the new Macs."
The release of the iWatch should closely follow the launch of the iPhone 6. However, there might be a possibility that a 2014 and 2015 launch could happen because of the limited number of units that can be produced. Experts argue that the production should be more efficient and faster once the initial release has been made.
