Dame Helen Mirren is twerking mode once again just right after she promoted her new drama-comedy flick "The Hundred-Foot Journey," a story about food and cooking on national television.
While Helen Mirren look classy and slender in a Dolce & Gabbana outfit, the Dame cannot afford not to do the twerk when she appeared on ABC's Live! With Kelly & Michael to promote her new film "The Hundred-Foot Journey." The 69-year old was asked by Michael Strahan about the previous twerking move she did at the Harvard's Hasty Pudding Woman Of The Year ceremony when she received the award.
"Thank god I knew what it was, otherwise it would have been embarrassingly humiliated," said Mirren.
Helen Mirren gamely twerked once more, this time with host Michael Strahan to the delight of the audience and co-host Kelly Ripa.
"The Hundred-Foot Journey" is a Lasse Hallström-directed movie that depicts a competition between a French restaurant owned by Madame Mallory (Dame Helen Mirren) and an Indian family-run foodhouse, Express reported.
Despite playing an accomplished restaurateur in "The Hundred-Foot Journey," Dame Mirren admitted that she is not a great cook.
"I'm very good at certain things. I make absolutely brilliant Marmite on toast, I do a very good baked beans on toast, I do a fabulous tomatoes on toast... I'm not a great chef, no," she said recently.
While cooking is not her forte, she welcomed the amalgam of Eastern (Indian) and Western (French) cuisine in the movie.
I'm sure many French people would say when they're out of France, the food that they miss is not magret du canard, it's couscous. So food is a wonderful way of human beings learning to live with each other, and that's what the film is about."
"The Hundred-Foot Journey" had its world premiere at the historic Ziegfeld Theatre on Monday. The film stars Helen Mirren, Bollywood legend Om Puri, Manish Dayal and French actress Charlotte Le Bon.
