Wayne Rooney believes that the new tactics introduced by Louis van Gaal will be of great help in his game play and also to the success of Manchester United.
Van Gaal has started turning tables in Manchester United as he take over the position. It did not take him too much time to assert himself as the players of United are all looking forward to his management and training under him.
The Dutchman has introduced new coaching methods and a new formation favoring a 3-5-2 system that he believes in favor of the United's strengths.
Rooney, a leading contender to take the captain's armband is to change his position. He now gets to operate in his favored central role instead of being forced out wide onto the flanks.
The England international will not only be benefitting from van Gaal, but this will also be a productive season for United and they players will surely improve in significant ways as they adapt to the fresh ways and methods presented by their new boss. This could be the big breakthrough for Manchester United.
"The players are pleased because we are playing a new system which I don't think any of us had played before, apart from maybe a couple of the foreign lads." Rooney said.
We have had to work hard in training to try and get the things he wants from us on the pitch. We've done that so hopefully we can get better, keep learning and it will help us in the season to get consistent."
Rooney also believes that the new system on hand suits not only him but the team as well. Van Gaal had a look with the players and what the potentials they have, and then he has done what he (van Gaal) thinks is suited for the team.
"Obviously, there's still some stuff we need to learn but we can take a lot from the five games we have had there (in the United States)."
Rooney underwent a tough time with England at the World Cup finals this summer, but his light shone and his career flourished in the pre-season and rounded off United's American tour with another goal in a 3-1 victory over Premier League rivals Liverpool in the final of the International Champions Cup.
He added on his form heading into the new season: "I feel good and I am just excited for the season to start. I haven't had much of a break so my fitness just needs topping up.
"Hopefully I will get some minutes in that one as well and I will be ready for the start of the season against Swansea."
