One of the posters of "Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For" was banned a few months ago for being too racy. It was that of Eva Green, who plays Ava Lord in the latest Frank Miller film. The fictional character manipulates men by using her innocent façade and good looks. She is also an expert liar and a manipulative bitch.
To make the femme fatale come to life, Eva Green was asked to look seductive and tough at the same time that's why she posed in a white robe while holding a gun. However, the "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" photo was banned in the United States.
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) said that the poster was too risqué for public advertising for nudity - curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown."
The 34-year old French actress told Vanity Fair, "It seems like it's all just publicity - a lot of noise of nothing," Green added, "You have so many more violent things in the movie business and this is kind of soft. I'm not naked. It's suggested."
During a recent interview at "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", the lead female star of "Sin City 2" talked about the controversy that she had to face because of her poster. Eva Green said, "I don't really get it. I don't understand all the fuss."
Jimmy Kimmel joked, "In France, obviously, there's nudity on television there...this is like a yoghurt ad in France, right?" He also brought about how the gun was more acceptable than her covered breasts. Eva sarcastically replied, "Boobs have never killed anyone! I mean, you could suffocate somebody..."
Apart from banning the poster in the United States, ABC now warned the filmmakers to remove the footage of the actress wearing that white robe or else they won't show the "Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For" trailer on the network.
Eva Green told E! News, "I mean...the poster, you don't see anything!" She added, "I'm holding a gun on the poster-no big deal about the gun, it's all about my tits?!" The former Bond girl also revealed that the "Sin City 2" will be released in 3D. She said, "Just wait for the movie then. It's in 3-D as well. Enjoy yourself, you know! It was nothing on the poster, it was lots of noise for nothing."
