Paul Lambert recently brought Alan Hutton back into the squad. Hutton says he is very happy to be back in the first-team picture at Aston Villa.
The 29-year-old athlete has never played a Premier League match for Villa since the management takeover of Lambert in summer 2012. Instead of playing, he was being farmed out on loan to Nottingham Forest, Real Mallorca and Bolton Wanderers.
After playing most of pre-season, the Scotland international right-back is now suddenly in line to feature under Lambert this upcoming season.
"It's been a long time since I was involved, so to be given this opportunity again is great," Hutton said.
He says that his comeback was totally unexpected that even he himself did not think of the possibility. "Who would have thought it could have happened? Certainly not me. With what has gone on in the last few seasons, I thought my future would lie elsewhere."
Hutton expressed his delight and gratitude that Lambert gave him a chance to show the world what he can do, since he had decent performance during the pre-season. Now, given the chance, he has to work hard twice as much as he did before to show everybody that he can play. Also, Hutton is eager to do better-he believes that through this he can show how glad he is to be back and through this he can give something in return to his team and repaying the favor his manager gave him.
"I want to prove to everybody I'm capable of doing it."
