"Doctor Who" was given a red carpet premiere in Cardiff, which will mark the start of their world tour across give continents in two weeks. Meanwhile, cast Pater Capaldi's debut performance was lauded for showing a much more human Doctor.

In a report by BBC, the "Doctor Who" red carpet premiere was conducted at St. David's Hall in Cardiff featuring the cast led by Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman. The premiere "marks the start of their world tour visiting five continents in 12 days," it said.

After Cardiff, similar "Doctor Who" red carpet premieres will be scheduled in London, South Korea, Australia, USA, Mexico and Brazil.

Peter Capaldi told BBC, "After eight months solid filming deep in the world of monsters, Jenna and I are thrilled to be heading for the Planet of Fans."

Speaking of Peter Capaldi, his debut performance as a doctor was widely praised as "Doctor Who" had a special screening at St. David's Hall.

The Den of Geek, website had first dibs on the premiere episode called "Deep Breath" and it had nothing but praises for Peter Capaldi's debut performance.

The episode revolves around the Doctor trying to find his compass after the latest incarnation.

"Capaldi comes across as quietly broken, and really quite mysterious. He is also, and no bones about this, very Scottish. He's also every bit as good and as interesting as you'd hope," it said.

The London Telegraph's Ben Lawrence also lauded Peter Capaldi's debut performance as he noted the presence of nervous energy that the actor has been known to exhibit in some of his characters. "You always felt that his mood could turn at any moment, and sometimes he did, his unpredictability crackling off the screen," he wrote.

"This was a highly effective opener, showing that 'Doctor Who' is still the most intelligent, ambitious and eccentric show on British television. In his unsettling, cerebral performance, Capaldi fits right in," the Telegraph said.
