The Xiaomi Mi4 is starting to gain popularity worldwide with tech writers and experts focusing on its noteworthy specs and design.
Xiaomi has been dubbed as "the Apple of the East." The mobile phone company has rapidly grew and has released smartphones that rival Samsung's Galaxy phones and Apple's iPhone.
In fact, it has just recently launched its new flagship product, the Mi4.
According to The Independent, "The phone was unveiled to rapturous applause in Beijing by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, a billionaire known for wearing blue jeans and trainers onstage (remind you of anyone?) and who managed to persuade Google's second in command of Android to join his four-year-old company last year."
"In terms of specifications the Mi4 comfortably holds its own with other flagship devices, featuring a 5-inch full-HD screen, a quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 16GB of 64GB of internal memory."
"The device will also run Xiaomi's custom MIUI operating system - a skinned version of Android that allows for more customization and that removes the Android app drawer in favour of putting all the programs on the home screen (just lke an iPhone)."
However, the question still remains: Is the Mi4 good enough to take the iPhone's throne?
It could be a possibility, most definitely, in China where Xiaomi is primarily creating a name. 95% of all their devices are sold in China alone. And although the mobile company is behind Apple in terms of market share (6% and 7% respectively), it won't be difficult for them to overthrow the innovation giant sooner or later.
On a global scale, it might take time for the Xiaomi Mi4 to make an impact like the iPhone does. But with its impressive specs, and a notoriously innovative company to back it up, nothing really is impossible.
