When fans heard that "Arrested Development" season 4 would be happening, they went crazy.
I know this because most of my friends are "Arrested Development" fans and a few skipped classes in the morning and afternoon to sleep in order to watch the series as soon as it came out on Netflix at night.
They're going to have to go through the same process again because "Arrested Development" season 5 has been confirmed. The Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos and star Will Arnett confirmed the rumors over the last two days, according to Deadline.com.
"It's just a matter of when," Sarandos reportedly told USA Today.
Will Arnett, who plays Gob on "Arrested Development," also announced the return of the hit show on both "Today" and the "Tonight Show."
"It's going to happen, we don't know when, but it is going to happen," Arnett told Jimmy Fallon.
Despite confirmation of the show's return, specific details of season 5 have yet to be released. There is still no deal, and creator/executive producer Mitch Hurwitz is yet to pitch an idea or present a script to the studio, according to the website.
The potential fifth season is reportedly expected to feature the entire or most of the cast together, going for a different route from season 4, which spotlighted a different character in each episode. The structure for season 4 had reportedly received "lukewarm reactions" from fans.
Although news of season 5 is circulating, it's still going to be a while until they will be able to shoot the next season of the show due to the original cast members' conflicting schedules.
Will Arnett is currently starring in "The Millers" and the Neflix animated comedy "BoJack Horseman" while Tony Hale is a regular on "Veep." Jeffrey Tambor is involved in Amazon's "Transparent."
The earliest the cast could get together would be during the summer hiatus.
