What To Expect From The New Foursquare’s Renovated App

Foursquare released a new app that promises users new and useful features. The move was done after it suffered from an identity crisis second quarter of this year. Since May, the main feature check-in capability was broken off, and was available through a different app called Swarm. For months, while left with no choice but to switch to Swarm, users protested and called for its "death."

Now that the long wait is over, users can start to explore the overhauled search options. It may not be the old check-in app that we cherished and loved but this one's can give us personal suggestions comprehensively. It combines your preference and friends' recommendations to provide you a detailed guide wherever you are.

A disclaimer will immediately pop up after you download the new version. It is about the core function that was moved to Swarm, which was seriously recognized as not a popular decision.

A new feature allows you to choose from word bubbles what your taste is at the moment. The choices range from the very general to specific ones. The one you tap will turn pink and will be added to your profile automatically.

There are four new, cool features categorized as sections. These are Find a Place, Your taste nearby, Here and Tips.

Users can use the first two sections to create personalized suggestions wherever they are. The Your taste nearby section, for example, can help you find a restaurant that suits your "tastes" well.

The Here section is where you can get recommendations for specials or dishes related to the nearby establishments.

Users who got used to the old version will be grateful about the Tip section. This contains filtered past check-ins just to leave the tips you previously made.

Lastly, you can connect your Foursquare with other social media so you can sync the check-ins you make.
