Marcos Maidana's next fight against Floyd Mayweather will be easier according to "El Chino" himself. The Argentine superstar also expressed his confidence in his preparations as he faces boxing's top pound-for-pound king.
Marcos Maidana's next fight will be the rematch against "Money May", which is scheduled for September 13th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
In a report by Bad Left Hook, the Argentine boxer claimed that his rematch against Floyd Mayweather will be easier this time around.
"I don't know if I'd say this will be easier because even the first one, I didn't find very difficult," Maidana said. "But I already know him and I think it's a great advantage that I already know Mayweather because he hasn't given a lot of fighters the rematch."
Marcos Maidana's next fight is expected to be a continuation of the first encounter, wherein he was able to inflict significant damage on Floyd Mayweather, Jr. The effectiveness of his game plan was evident during the first half of the fight, where he cornered "Money May" to the ropes.
Unfortunately for "El Chino", he was not able to keep the same pace, in which Floyd Mayweather took advantage of. In the end, the fight went towards "Money May's" way, as he walked away with a majority decision victory.
With a record of 35-4, Marcos Maidana has been successful in his boxing campaign so far. Throughout his 10-year professional career, he has held the WBA welterweight title once, only to lose it to Floyd Mayweather in May.
But as he was given an opportunity to avenge his previous loss against the man who took his title away from him, "El Chino" is more confident about his preparations for the upcoming rematch, and he believes that he can pull off a win this time around.
"I'm well prepared, I'll do my job and I know I can win. I'm waiting patiently for the date to come," Maidana told Boxingscene. "We are sure that everything will be fine."
