Teenage Ninja Turtle has reportedly earned $65 million last weekend at the box office making it one of the top earning movies for this month.
This comic-book adaptation movie features Megan Fox. Reports say that this box office movie will also have a sequel scheduled for release on June 3, 2016.
On its second weekend, the Guardians of the Galaxy placed second to Mutant Ninja Turtles as it earned $41.5 million over the weekend. But in total, it already has earned about $175.9 million.
Meanwhile, 'Into the Storm' placed third as it earned $18 million at the box office.
Overall, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle earned $93.7 million worldwide as it was introduced in 19 international markets. The public relations strategy of Paramount seemed to work. What did they do? Nothing. They did not bother to respond to critics who decried that Michael Bay ruined childhoods and if the turtles were aliens or not.
Paramount was much aware that moviegoers would not really mind about the issues mentioned, so they did not lift a finger on those. There were complaints that everybody showed up in the movie. Megan Fox, however, was right after saying that Paramount did well for a quite restrained campaign for this movie.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is expected to reap more millions in the coming weeks.
Despite the poor reviews about the Paramount-produced movie and the success of a strong competitor Guardians of the Galaxy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles managed to be one of the top-earning movies for this month, which is apparent with its earnings just this weekend.
Adult viewers generally gave this movie B rating, while the kids gave it A rating. The long-running series is still popular even after several decades. Paramount seems confident that this can still reap more millions as it is also introduced to a wider international market.
