"The Bridge" season 2 spoilers revolve around police detective Marco Ruiz's quest for vengeance, which could very well cost him his life. Is the act of pushing Sonya away an act of love?

Demian Bichir, who plays Marco Ruiz, provided plenty of "The Bridge" season 2 spoilers when he talked to Assignment X.

"I think Marco knows that he can go any time. He can die at any time, and that is exactly why he is more assertive and more outgoing in terms of trying to get the job done in time, before someone cuts him down," he said.

In the first season, Marco Ruiz's son was killed by his ex-partner and his obsession to seek revenge had him even forgetting his principles to cut a deal with a crime lord. That unleashed a series of events where he found himself working with El Paso detective Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger).

Demian Bichir also dished out more "The Bridge" season 2 spoilers when he said that Marco Ruiz doesn't really want Sonya to get close to him because he knows he might get killed anytime.

"Even though they don't really have a loving relationship, they care for each other and they respect each other, and I know that she is in danger, being so close to the other side of the border, especially because I'm dealing with really, really bad guys," he said.

"So Marco will always try to keep her away from danger as much as he can," the actor added.

In the last episode entitled "Eye of the Deep," David Tate was brought back to provide more complications to the life of Marco Ruiz. According to Paste magazine, the episode was successful because it made the Mexican police detective very unpredictable. He ended up gouging David Tate's eyes out.
