Daniel Radcliffe is reportedly against the concept of the "friend zone."
Just recently, Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, has opened up about his relationship with actress Erin Darke as his girlfriend. According to his statements, Darke is actually his "best friend." They met back in 2012 at the set of "Kill Your Darlings." Daniel Radcliffe also explained that the kind of romantic relationship they share is actually the kind that he has always aspired to have.
Daniel Radcliffe shared to UsMagazine.com, "I think that's the kind of relationship I always aspire to have with someone I'm in a relationship with. You want that person to be your best friend. In the case of Erin, we definitely are."
Still, despite the fact that Daniel Radcliffe and his present girlfriend started off his friends, he insisted that that was never his method of courting. According to him, he does not try to start a relationship with someone he likes by being friends with them, since becoming romantic partners is "often a very natural" progression.
Daniel Radcliffe shared, "I don't think you can ever control how anything stars. It's not like I seek out that way of meeting people or think I have to be their friend first, but I think it's often a very natural thing to progress from into a relationship."
Daniel Radcliffe pointed out, "The whole modern idea of 'friend zone' and all that stuff - that's a word I don't like very much."
Still, his thoughts about the "friend zone" have not diminished his chances of being selected for various types of movies today. In fact, Daniel Radcliffe has been selected to star in "What If," which is a love story that features all of its usual complications. The movie's premise focuses on the reasons why certain people just cannot be together.
