During the past few days, many witnessed a number of news that highlights Android devices. These include Chinese market for Android, release of Tab Nook 4, and sneak peak to Moto 360.
Chinese manufacturers lead China's Android market
China has become the most viable market for any company that seeks positive growth. Foreign Android manufacturers such as Palm, Motorola and Nokia have tried to penetrate Chinese market. Even 'western' manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung try to win over Chinese consumers. They gained certain level of success but, apparently, the top five manufacturers are comprised of 4 Chinese brands. Xiaomi is ranked number one. Canalys revealed that Xiaomi took 14% of the market second quarter of this year. Samsung shrank with 12% share of the Android market.
Tab Nook 4 from Samsung and Barnes & Noble
Consumers anticipate this month the launching of Galaxy Tab Nook 4, a collaboration of Samsung and Barnes & Noble. Buyers can expect the new hardware to be on sale on the same date of the two companies' joint event, which is on August 20. The handset combines the power and functionality of Samsung's Android tab and Barnes & Noble's periodical subscription service and online bookstore.
Moto 360 Review
In general, the new Moto 360 smartwatch is good as far as battery life. However, the circular display is not that impressive. The new Android Wear item has a battery life of 2 ½ days. The display is highly functional when there is strong, direct sunlight. At the bottom, users can easily see the black bar. Charging the device is convenient as it uses wireless Qi. One question raised is whether trimming a slice off the screen can have a negative effect.
