Upcoming action-adventure game developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision will soon hit the markets not only with the console versions of the game but a new starter pack for tablet devices with the same hands-free and Traptanium features.

Publisher revealed that the full console experience of the game will be compatible with Apple iPad, Android, and Amazon fire tablets including the following: iPad 3 and 4, iPad Air and Mini Retina, Giigle Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro, Tan and Note 10.1 (2014), 12.2, and the Kindle Fire HDX.

The previous Skylanders games challenge players to control various characters by placing toy figures onto an interface called as the Portal of Power, reminding us of the Disney Infinity.

This time, developers and publishers wanted to bring the game to mobile world. According to Vicarious Visions co-founder Karthik Bala's exclusive interview with the Digital Spy at gamescom 2014, "We've worked on Skylanders games on mobile in the past,"

"Cloud Patrol and Lost Islands have a very active community base, but overwhelmingly the feedback from our fans is, 'When can we get the full Skylanders experience on tablets?"

The representative shared that the high processing power of tablets only fills in half of the equation while the other half was how were they going to bring the toys to life?

The starter pack for tablets will be provided with a Bluetooth portal and two sets of shoulder buttons and analogues sticks, alongside a built-in tablet stand for hands free play. It will also come with two Skylanders characters. This time with the Trap Team edition, a new item type has been built-in, which from the name itself is the trap. This serves as a medium to store accumulated characters and villains that can be taken to other consoles.

Such innovation of delivering the full Skylanders experience to handy devices, as per Bala, was made possible by advanced mobile technology and intricately designed hardware solutions. The more striking part is that the iPad 3 version will be similar to the graphics of the Wii version, while the Mini Retina and iPad Air downloads will give the same visual clarity found in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

A limited edition will be available in the app store for free but the Skylanders: Trap Team Tablet Starter Pack can be bought on October 5 in North America , October 10 in Europe, and October 2 in APAC for $74.99.
