B2K singer Omarion recently welcomed his first child, a baby boy, and chose a rather strange name for his son.

According to a report from Daily Mail, the 29-year-old member of R&B group B2K and his long-time girlfriend singer Apryl Jones welcomed their baby on Thursday. The couple named the baby Megaa Omari Grandberry.

B2K singer Omarion took to Instagram the announcement of his firstborn by posting a photo of himself carrying the baby, captioned: "World. Allow me to introduce. MEGAA OMARI GRANDBERRY."

"He is 7 pounds. 4oz & 20 inches long. My son I've been waiting on you. God is the realist!!" added the Grammy-nominated singer, whose real name is also Omari Grandberry.

The couple delivered their first baby at home via natural delivery , and the new dad was all praises for his baby momma. B2K singer Omarion wrote: "I witnessed a miracle. My soul mate is so strong! Not only did she have a un medicated birth (no drugs) she did it at home. Naturally. Just like my mom had me."

The proud father also added: "I love you. thank you for having my legacy. I'll forever belong to you & you will forever be tied to me. "

"Creating a child takes no love or skill but being a parent requires lots of both. Thanks for watching me grow," the recording artist added.

Omarion added the following hashtags: '#MEGAAhome #OmarionsonMEGAA #donthateonmysonsnameillkillya #Nolol #royalObloodline #blasain #mysongotgoodhair #freshpitthewombhandsom'

The R&B star and occasional actor recently told OK! magazine that he was looking forward to becoming a father.

"I'm completely excited and confident going into fatherhood. I'm a big brother, I'm the first of four. But to have my own child is something that I've always wanted," Omarion shared.

He said he just wants his child "to do whatever he loves". "I just want my child to understand that he needs to be truly happy," Omarion added.

B2K singer Omarion and his R&B group rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits such as "Bump, Bump, Bump," which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 2003.

Prior to the birth of his son, Omarion has been preparing for his album release, entitled "Sex Playlist." The album is a team-up between Omarion and Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group.

There is still no exact release date for the said album, although Omarion initially shared his thoughts on the album in a Billboard report earlier this year.

"I'm in this really good place of self-discovery and self-knowledge," Omarion said. "I've had the bittersweet feeling of growing up in front of the public, so it's hard for them to allow me to grow up. But this album is a real maturation from my previous work."
