Fans have seen Jon Snow in all his furry glory for four seasons in the HBO hit show, 'Game Of Thrones.' For his big screen appearance, however, Kit Harington decided to cut off his beard and curly locks!

In the 'Testament Of Youth' trailer, the 27-year-old actor looks clean-shaven as he goes off to fight in World War I.

In the film, he plays Roland Leighton, a young man forced to leave behind his lady love, Vera Brittain, and ultimately, his youth as he joins his countrymen in the first world war. Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, known for her work in 'The Fifth Estate' and 'Anna Karenina,' plays the heroine Vera.

Unlike the constant look of worry on his small screen counterpart's face, Roland Leighton-at least at first-looks like a young romantic, smiling and laughing with the girl he loves. In the latter parts of the 'Testament Of Youth' trailer however, his recognizable Jon Snow scowl makes its appearance as he gets called to serve.

The film, based on Vera Brittain's memoirs, is a "testament to love," "to hope" and "to youth."

"Our generation will never be new again, Vikander says in the trailer, "Our youth has been stolen from us."

In the 'Testament Of Youth' trailer, Vera expresses her desire to become a writer, despite tradition dictating her to become someone domestic. She later on, falls in love with Roland. Their love gets challenged when Roland decides to enlist in the army.

Roland tries to reason with his beloved that fighting for the country is a once in a lifetime opportunity and that he can't let others do his duty for him. Whether Roland survives the world war or not remains to be seen.

The movie also stars Emily Watson, Dominic West, and Hayley Atwell and will be shown in UK theaters early next year, according to Cosmopolitan.
