U2 Tour 2014 Cancelled and Moved to 2015; Source Says Band Takes Longer to Finish Albums as They Get Older

U2 tour 2014 has just been cancelled. The band of Irish rockers have stated that there will be no tour or album for U2, or at least, not until 2015. This is bad news for the band's avid fans, since they have actually been expecting the album to be released later this year.

Bono, Larry Mullen, Jr., The Edge, and Adam Clayton, were reportedly busting their chops inside a studio with producer Danger Mouse, or Brian Burton. The fans are pretty much aware of this, which is why the news that there will be no U2 tour 2014 came as a surprise.

As reported by the NY Daily News in their March 11 article, U2 apparently said that the rumors about the delay were not true. The representative of the band said in a statement, "U2's album is planned for this year and is still on track and touring plans having been confirmed yet.

Moreover, Bono also told USA Today earlier this year, "We want the new album to come out this summer, but you don't want to let anyone down."

Sadly, however, recent updates regarding U2 tour 2014 indicate that the much awaited album will not be released this year. According to the reports by Billboard, the album has been pushed back to a later date in 2015. Plus, the band has reportedly scheduled sessions with producers Paul Epworth and Ryan Tedder.

A source also mentioned, "It seems to be taking longer for them to finish an album as they get older, but the great thing about U2 is that the whole of a record is always better than the sum of its parts. That magic that the band always seems to capture, they have yet to capture it."

Even if the U2 tour 2014 has been moved to next year, the band has still given their fans some teasers. In the past several months, U2 has released some teaser tracks, "Ordinary Love," an Oscar-nominated single that was featured in "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom", and "Invisible," which was released during the Super Bowl season and was performed at "The Tonight Show."
