Now that the case is closed and the court has decided, Steve Ballmer has now officially closed the deal to buy the LA Clippers from the Sterling's.
According to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Levanas, the sale brokered by Sterling's estranged wife, Shelly, can now push through even if Donald Sterling would chose to appeal. Levanas said "She had every good reason to believe that Donald agreed to the sale of the team."
The former Microsoft CEO's has bought the Clippers for $2 Billion and the NBA Board of Governors has already approved the sale previously.
Ballmer said "Really excited - in a pretty hardcore way - to continue the path to making the Clippers a better and better basketball team, and a better and better citizen of the Los Angeles community."
A lot of Clipper fans and players alike are looking forward to the sale including All-Star power forward Blake Griffin saying "I look forward to having Mr. Ballmer as the owner and continuing our pursuit of a championship."
Mayor Eric Garcetti has talked to Donald Sterling before with regards to selling the franchise after racism issues emerge to the media. The mayor has welcomed Ballmer as the new owner.
He said "We have somebody who's going to keep the team here, who has the resources to continue to build the Clippers."
Alos, Donald's wife, Shelly is confident that Ballmer can bring the team to a championship.
Ballmer will own a power house team which is coached by Doc Rivers. He said "The topic of conversation with Doc earlier was to focus in on what does it take and how can I help support him in achieving our mutual mission and in a pretty intense way continue to improve, be tenacious. If we do all that, good things will come our way."
Ballmer wants to put the Sterling issue behind and work with the team to their success. He said "We're going to do our best on that. I know that is high on Doc's list, it's high on my list to do that. We also have to be a phenomenal basketball team, play really well as a team and have great success on court. We're going to work on all those things."
