Ronda Rousey's "Expendables 3" performance garnered praises from critics, but the UFC women's bantamweight champion said she finds acting more difficult than fighting.
The franchise's latest film opened on Friday, and immediately, critics from different parts of the world had nothing but positive reviews.
London's The Independent wrote about Ronda Rousey's "Expendables 3" performance: "She is the only significant female character in the film but is woefully underused."
RogerEbert.com said: "Standing out from this bunch is MMA fighter Ronda Rousey, who displays a leadership quality that aligns her with Barney despite her stereotypical entrance fighting several men while dressed for maximum hotness."
Indiewire.com praised not only Ronda Rousey's "Expendables 3" perforamnce, but her apparent sex appeal amongst a male-dominated cast and theme as well.
"The film momentarily spikes when a young female Expendable is introduced, played by wrestler Ronda Rousey, although it dips just as suddenly when it becomes very clear that she is the only Expendable whose paramilitary get-up has a plunging neckline," the review reads.
Local publications such as The Boston Globe referred to "Rowdy" as "a pumped-up Julia Stiles lookalike unafraid to give Barney some sass" while the Los Angeles Times described her as "the world's top female mixed martial artist, she makes the biggest impression."
But despite her successful movie debut, Ronda Rousey still finds acting more difficult that her chosen profession of fighting in a mixed martial arts cage.
In a report by Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports, the new face of women's MMA finds it harder to critique herself in the big screen as opposed to inside the UFC Octagon.
"It's a lot simpler for me to critique my fighting as opposed to acting," Rousey said. "I'm so new at this and I care so much and I'm trying so hard. But I also have so much to learn that it's easy to doubt my ability to properly critique it."
