Amidst the Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier fight postponement, the champion has successfully undergone surgery for his injured knee. UFC President Dana White, on the other hand, believes he could have prevented the brawl from breaking out.

The Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier fight was originally scheduled for UFC 178 on September 27th, but was postponed due to an injury sustained by "Bones" during training.

His trainer Greg Jackson explained the incident, which apparently was a result of wrestling training gone wrong.

"It's part of the game, it wasn't like somebody went for a flying kick and dislocated [something]," Jackson told Sherdog.com. "Somebody went for a takedown, [Jones] stepped the wrong way, twisted the wrong way and down he went.

The champion immediately had a surgery on the said knee, which was reported to be a success. "Bones" himself made the announcement through his Instagram account.

"I'm all done. Got it done. Good times," Jones said in a video he posted through the aforementioned social media website.

The Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier fight has now been rescheduled to UFC 182 on January 3rd, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

But prior to the recent turn of events, a brawl broke out between the two fighters during the supposed UFC 178 pre-fight media day. UFC President Dana White was on vacation when the incident happened, and has finally spoken up about it for the first time and relayed how he would have handled the situation.

"As soon as Jones went up and their bodies touched, I would have separated them," White said in an interview with UFC.com. "That's what upset [Daniel] and made him push him back. I would have got my arm in there before that contact was even made. I would have seen the contact coming and I would have stopped it. Then I would have been right in the middle."

"Would I have stopped that whole thing from going down, who the f-- knows? I wasn't here," he added.
