‘The Normal Heart’ Cast Matt Bomer Reveals Acting Chops Started In A Swing; Joins ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

"The Normal Heart" cast Matt Bomer revealed that his love affair with acting started on a swing when he was still a child. Meanwhile, he solicited the help of his sons to join the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

"I had a wild imagination as a kid-wild!-and I was outside all the time, swinging around in trees by myself. I would sit on the swing set and swing literally for two hours, just, like, imagining things like, what if this happened and what if I was this guy?" "The Normal Heart" cast Matt Bomer revealed to Backstage.

"We didn't get to see a lot of movies in my house growing up, so the first time I got to go to the movies-I think it was 'E.T.'-I was like, Oh my God, somebody else gets my imagination!" he added.

In an earlier interview with Elle, "White Collar" season 6 cast Matt Bomer revealed that he first read "The Normal Heart" play when he was just 13 years old and he became a fan ever since.

"For it to be given the voice it was given by HBO is the culmination of so many people's work," he said, who thanked Larry Kramer in his speech after winning Best Supporting Actor at the Critics' Choice Television Awards on June 19.

The made-for-TV movie was directed by Ryan Murphy and based on the Larry Kramer play tackling HIV/AIDS back when little was known about the disease.

"The Normal Heart" cast Matt Bomer, who is already out, shared an intimate moment with co-star Mark Ruffalo in film. Mark Ruffalo revealed to Zap2it: "I had to kiss Matt Bomer, who, granted, is a very good-looking man. I had never kissed a man before, and I was a little nervous about it."

Meanwhile, "The Normal Heart" cast Matt Bomer joined the ALSICe Bucket Challenge in order to raise awareness for what is commonly known as the Lou Gehrig's disease. In the video, Matt Bomer is on the beach in the with his sons who all dumped ice buckets on his head.
