Many fans thought the Jelena couple was really over and done with after a tumultuous love affair, which supposedly ended sometime June. Selena even went on rehab after the fallout, and Bieber seemed to have kept on in notoriety with Gomez out of the picture.
Recent news of a rekindled Jelena love affair was met with different responses, though. The two were spotted getting cozy with each other outside a movie theater last August 11, and Selena was even photographed landing a kiss on Justin's cheek.
The two have apparently mended ways, but fans have doubts this has the legs to last, given their on-off romance in the past. The most revealing response was Demi Lovato's decision to unfollow Selena on Twitter, though.
In an interview at "Watch What Happens Live," Demi comments on the news, short of speaking for the troubled Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Taylor Swift friendship.
Bravo asks: "You recently unfollowed your BFF Selena Gomez on Twitter. So much speculation about this! Can you tell us why?" Selena decided to sidestep the question altogether. "I plead the sixth, if that's in the game." She also responded that "I think it's just one of those things where people change and people grow apart" when asked if she thinks people are reading too much into the issue.
Demi hinted of the strained friendship as early as last year, speaking at a "Live from MTV" interview. "We've been through a lot together, we've had periods of times where we grew apart and we just didn't really talk."
"Now we are in a place where I think we realized that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that love you so much then, you should just always be around them...she has a great soul, she's talented, she's beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart."
