The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, has recently been hounded regarding Daryl Dixon's sexuality. Daryl's character is played by Norman Reedus, and it is this particular character that Kirkman is currently being probed about.
In the letters section of The Walking Dead comic series' issue 130, questions have been raised regarding Daryl's sexuality, perhaps due to the his lack of love interests during the top-rated show's 1st four seasons. Finally, after four seasons of The Walking Dead zombie-killing, Kirkman has finally provided fans with answers.
He said, "All I can say is that it's been discussed. We have very specific ideas about Daryl's sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if there's ever a quiet period in the show where he's not consistently distracted by cross-bowing, we'll tackle it in the show."
Kirkman, The Walking Dead creator, was also asked if there was a chance that AMC would allow Daryl's persona to be gay. He responded, "For the record, they absolutely would."
Additionally, Reedus is also often asked about the love life of his character in "The Walking Dead." According to Comicbook.com, Reedus answered these questions during a roundtable interview at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con with a joke. He stated that he was "hoping for a threesome with Melissa and Emily."
Melisa McBride plays Carol Peletier, who has been Daryl's close friend since the show's 1st season, and Emily Kinney plays Beth Greene, who only got closer to Daryl during the end of the 4th season.
Scott M. Gimple, "The Walking Dead" writer and show-runner was asked in an interview with Larry King back in April. A fan asked him if Daryl will ever find love in the internationally famed series, he merely responded, "I would say that Daryl has already found familial love. If you're talking romantic love, I'm going to say, 'I think so.'"
"The Walking Dead" has been scheduled to return to AMC for the show's 5th season on Sunday, 12th of October. Plus, it will be shown in the United Kingdom on Fox on Monday, 13th of October.
