An organization dedicated to UFO research based in Winnipeg Canada has compiled 25 years of UFO sightings in the country, most of which occurred in the areas of Calgary and Alberta.
According to CTV News, the organization in question is the UFOlogy research, and they have recorded and studied all Calgary and Alberta UFO sightings for 25 years. Since their establishment in 1989, they have already recorded a total of 14,617 astronomical bodies, half of which have explanations or probable explanations.
The organization has recently reviewed all their compiled UFO sightings in the country, spanning 14 years (1989-2013). Of the cities identified to have the largest number of such incidents, Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta UFO sightings take up the top spots, reported the Calgary Sun.
Calgary has accumulated 472 UFO sightings, with its surrounding vicinities included. It is ranked 4th place following Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Edmonton, Alberta, on the other hand, has garnered 395, also with its surrounding areas included.
CTV News reported that majority of these so-called UFO sightings comprised of strange lights spotted in the sky between 10p.m. and 12 midnight. Most of the occurrences transpired during the months of July and August.
Also, 467 cases, which comprise 3% of the overall recorded sightings, involved face-to-face experiences that included kidnappings and actual spotting of aliens.
CTV News shared one of the most remarkable close encounters recorded happened on November 1, 1992. It involved a nurse from Winnipeg who claimed that she saw two "small beings that resembled humans" upon coming home from work.
Calgary Sun shared that these huge number of UFO sightings does not confirm the existence of aliens. Moreover, it does not imply anything about possible UFO landings on any of the top ranking sighting areas any time soon.
Chris Rutkowski of the UFOlogy research said that this only means that people were seeing more of something that does not have any ready explanation.
