Rookie Kevin Gausman impressed Orioles fans as he pitched six strong innings which had the Orioles grabbing two-out hits from J. J. Hardy and Chris Davis in the sixth. The 23 year old Gausman helped the team win over the Cleveland Indians in a 4-1 finish.

First baseman Steve Pearce who also had a leadoff double in the sixth and then homered in the seventh said "'It's been a rough couple of days, but those things are going to happen. 'It was only a matter of time. We put together some good at-bats and grinded it out."

Hardy delivered a two-out RBI single while Davis added an RBI double for the Orioles. Orioles reliever Darren O'Day had pitched a perfect seventh and Andrew Miller struck out the side in the eighth and Zach Britton finished the two-hitter for his 26th save.

Gausman knew the importance of the game and that they need to score. He said "I definitely knew we needed a win. We hadn't played very good baseball the last two days. When you get walked-off (Friday's 2-1 loss) and then you get beat the next day, it's huge when you get that last game."

The Indians had a strong start but they were not able to take advantage with it. According to Indians manager Terry Francona "You hope they get out of town and beat up on somebody else because they were pretty quiet for two games and a half of another. But there's a lot of thunder in that lineup."

Next week, the Orioles will be spending their time in Chicago. They will be up against the White Sox and will have an off day right after before opening a weekend series at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

On the other hand, Orioles 3B Manny Machado who sprained his knee is now on rehabilitation program and is not doing any baseball activities for now. There is still no exact time as to when he will back to play with the team.

While the Indians will have an off day and they will open a three-game set in Minnesota with Trevor Bauer (4-7) facing Twins RHP Kyle Gibson (11-9).
