Brock Lesnar's UFC return may be possible now according to his manager Paul Heyman, as the former heavyweight champion finally gets a clean bill of health.
The former heavyweight champion last fought in in December 2011, against another heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem. However, it was not a memorable experience for the current WWE superstar as he lost the fight via first round TKO.
Since then, he opted to walk away from mixed martial arts competition and eventually returned to professional wrestling.
But in a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Lesnar's manager Paul Heyman believes that Brock Lesnar's UFC comeback is now possible.
"If a change of circumstance happens, and it's a no-brainer to get Brock back into the cage, I'm sure it's something he would consider," Heyman said. "At this moment, it's not a topic of conversation because things are going so well in WWE."
Heyman's declaration about Brock Lesnar's UFC return counters a previous statement made by UFC President Dana White himself, who in February, claimed otherwise.
"Brock Lesnar is not coming back," White said in a separate interview with MMA Mania. "Brock Lesnar is not fighting. I mean, does he want to come back? We've talked about him wanting to come back. He feels like he wasn't 100 percent while he was here and he feels like he sold himself a little short and all the stuff that I've told you guys before, but no, he's not (coming back)."
Not being "100 percent" is in reference to Lesnar's battle with diverticulitis, an infection in the large intestine. But Paul Heyman also shed light on the former heavyweight champion's health condition, and all signs point to the positive.
"He had a clean bill of health, finally," Heyman said. "Brock was not ready for the Overeem fight, and I think that's fairly obvious. A liver kick, well placed, will drop any human being on the face of this planet."
"A liver kick from Alistair Overeem, at that size and weight-no matter how he achieved it-is going to drop any human being," he added. "Brock was unhealthy walking into that fight with Alistair Overeem."
