English boxer Kell Brook fought against Shawn Porter on Saturday night at the outdoor StubHub Center south of Los Angeles. Porter holds the IBF welterweight title and during last Saturday night's fight, Brook successfully clenched the title to his hands via majority decision.

This is Brook's first world title after having fought only twice outside of his home. Brook used his wit and strategy in winning over Porter and his technique did not fail him.

According to the scorecards, Brook (33-0) won 117-111 and 116-112 on two American judges' cards, while English judge Dave Parris scored it a 114-114 draw, while Associated Press scored it 115-113 for Brook.

According to Brook "Since I was 9 years old, I've been training to be a champion. I looked scrappy, but I did what I have to do."

Although having a small contingent of fans cheering for him, Brooks made sure that he had his ground covered and that he won't be able to make a mistake that can benefit the former title holder. His strategy includes keeping Porter at a distance and throwing concise punches that converts to score with his long stretch.

Brook said "I dealt with business. It's an unbelievable feeling, and I can't get my head around it."

Statistics showed that Brook landed 36 percent of his 441 punches, while Porter connected with just 25 percent of his 626 shots.

On the other hand, Porter has won his title during his match against Devon Alexander last December then followed by a four-round stoppage of Paulie Malignaggi in April.

But Porter was overwhelmed by Brooks's technique. He said "I thought that I was effective with my attack, but he was ready. I'm not giving any excuses. I want the rematch. I'll find him where he's at, and I'll take it from him."

Now that he has won a title, Brook wants to fight fellow Britsh Champion Amir Khan. Khan congratulated Brooks via a tweeter message.

According to Brook "Shawn Porter is a true champion, but I think Khan can get in queue now. I think that the British public needs to see this fight against Khan."
