Derrick Rose was a whirlwind during the friendly match between the US and Brazil. US Team beat Brazil 95-78 on Saturday night in a tune-up match for the World Cup of Basketball. But Rose missed shots during the games. His first two quarters where slow, having only 1 shot the whole time. He also missed a dunk but Rose' confidence did not falter.

Rose said "That's my second missed dunk of this whole tryout. I missed one in practice, too. Just got to get used to the [international] ball."

Rose recovered during the third quarter by scoring a lay-in over Anderson Varejao. It was not only the US team who was excited but also the crowd as well.

Varejao was happy with the performance of Rose saying "It's great to see him back. It's going to take him some time to get back to the player he was before, but I wish him good luck."

The tune up game was held in Chicago which is Rose's home court. This became an evident advantage for him as fans cheered for the basketball player in all fervor.

Rose said "I just saw an opening and I went for it. I'm used to people cheering, so I didn't let it get to me or anything like that. It's just me playing how I normally play."

Over all Rose had seven points, four rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes during his homecoming in USA Basketball's 95-78 victory over Brazil. The game was in preparation for the FIBA World Cup which will be held in Spain.

The game was George first game in United Center since Nov 18. Rose did a fan service before the game which the crowd really loved. He said "That was huge. I was surprised I didn't get nervous out there."

During the pregame, Rose encouraged the fans to stop the violence that had been happening the the Chicago Streets. He said "What's going on here is bigger than basketball and is bigger than one person trying to do something. It's kind of messed up. It's kind of on the system. The only way we can change it is if all of us change it and people change their mindsets."

On the other hand, Bulls head coach and U.S. assistant Tom Thibodeau sees that Rose is getting into the game saying "All summer long I think he's gotten more comfortable. He went through the comeback last year and learned a lot from it. I love the way he's playing. He's finding the rhythm of the game and he's playing to his strengths."
