Taylor Swift's new video lets you take a glimpse on the new persona of the singer you've never seen before!
The first single off her fifth album, "Shake It Off", will see the singer singing in a way fans never expected, reported by People Magazine. In the video for this song, Swift took a different direction in delivering: going from country to pop.
The following are the possible themes Taylor Swift's new video may have used for its conceptualization:
-The awkward dancing and iconic cheerleading theme may be an all-time favourite of Swift's, as previously evident in her video, "You Belong With Me."
-Taylor's dancing style in the new vid may have been emulated from Danny Kaye's modern dance.
-The final dance shown in "The Center Stage"
-Swift's ballet outfit in the movie closely resembled the costumes in the ballet scene in "The Little Rascals."
Swift commented on the theme of her new video in Yahoo! Livestream, as reported by CNN:
"All I think about are metaphors and cats,"
. "Life itself and who people actually are can be greatly reflected in how people dance. ... I don't mean how good you are but your willingness to dance."
Brian Mansfield writes his insights about Swift's new song and video, according to CNN:
Hate me all you want ... but you're missing all the fun."
"Lyrically, 'Shake It Off' is 'Mean 2.0,' with the 24-year-old singer/songwriter taking all the criticisms leveled at her and dismissing them flippantly."
"It's a total swerve musically, however, with horn-blast grooves grounded in early '60s proto-soul and girl-group pop, plus a spoken-word breakdown that would come off as awkward if it weren't so knowingly funny."
