Original Flappy Bird Download: Dong Nguyen did say earlier on Twitter that he would be returning with a new game to trail the immensely popular, “Flappy Bird,” which was taken down before gamers could their hands full. Most players said it was immensely difficult and hard to play. But the concept was easy with the player flapping the wings of a tiny bird that looks like a parrot. The object of the game is not to run into the obstacles or pipes that were obstructive in the path of play.

While Flappy Bird was a genuine trend when it hit the OS and Android App stores, it was short lived when it was taken down in late February. The Swing Copters is presumably similar to Flappy Bird and a second version of the popular game. Touch Arcade, a mobile game reviews firm has bought the exclusive gameplay and news properties for Swing Copters.

A report by TourchArcade vis The Guardian said the new game will be slated for launch on August 21 and will be a free download. However, gamers can use in-app purchase for $0.99 to get rid of adverts.

Here’s a YouTube video of Swing Copters to give you a peek:

Naina Khedekar of tech.firstpost.com provides a good summary of how the game works, but she says it is a rip off because it is very similar to other games online: Khedekar shares, ”the game appears almost similar to Flappy Bird – simple looking yet a Herculean task. The game shows a little human-shaped figurine that has to fly upwards and pass as many gates as possible. Sounds familiar? Yes, the goal is quite similar to what we’ve seen in Nguyen’s sensational hit game that was abruptly pulled off app stores for being too addictive. According to TouchArcade, Swing Copters “seems even more brutally difficult.”Though the game brings a similar vibe as Flappy Bird, it doesn’t appear to be novel. There are hordes of similar games out there.” One of the games mentioned bearing an obvious resemblance to Flappy Bird is Ship Up.
