Seth Rogen's 'The Interview' has already met international attention even before hitting cinemas.

The comedy flick, which features James Franco and Seth Rogen as journalists who are recruited by the CIA to assassinate North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, was met with an angry tirade and a complaint letter to the UN from the said country.

The reclusive country promised a "merciless" response should the United States allow this "wanton act of terror" to be shown in cinemas. North Korea even took to writing the UN Ambassador to help stop the supposed insult to the country's leader.

Seth Rogen and fellow director and friend, Evan Goldberg merely shrugged off the issue.

"They talk big over there," Golberg previously dismissed the threat. "They say crazy stuff all the time."

"I can't even believe that they even know it exists at this point," Rogen commented on the issue. "We thought it would happen once it came out. I wonder what they'll say when they see it."

Despite the pair's nonchalance over the matter however, it seems as if North Korea is getting some answers to their demands.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Seth Rogen's 'The Interview' will be edited to satisfy some of the country's wishes.

Sony will reportedly be taking out a graphic scene where Kim Jong Un's (Randall Park) face gets melted off very slowly. The studio will also be editing scenes where North Korean military pins are seen. Showcasing such private military paraphernalia is reportedly blasphemous in the reclusive nation.

A source told The Hollywood Reporter that Sony's decision to alter the film is due to "clearance issues" and "particularly because it involves a living person, Kim Jong Un."

The studio has also decided to postpone the film's release to December 25. It was originally set to hit cinemas in October.
