Miguel Cotto's next fight may possibly be against Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley, and it has already been welcomed by the latter's trainer, Joel Diaz. The "Desert Storm" camp has also dismissed any issues that may arise regarding the weight difference between both fighters.

Miguel Cotto's next fight has been scheduled for December 13th, although no final opponent has been named as of this posting. Promotion companies, however, are looking at the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Canelo Alvarez, and Gennady Golovkin, with the latter two coming off dominant performances the past month.

Another one of the names that stood out was former WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley. "Desert Storm", who is infamously known as the man who defeated Manny Pacquiao via a controversial unanimous decision verdict in 2012, is fresh off a loss against "Pacman" in April.

The fighter's trainer, Joel Diaz, has declared his agreement with the idea in a video interview with HustleBoss.com.

"They mentioned Miguel Cotto at one point and that was something that we considered," Diaz replied. "I know Miguel Cotto is a tough fighter, he's a very strong fighter. I saw him against Martinez."

Miguel Cotto last saw action in June against Argentine superstar Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez. For the majority of fans and scribes, it was Cotto's best performance as of late, as he was able to score multiple knockdowns in the early rounds and eventually emerge victorious via 10th round TKO.

Should Miguel Cotto's next fight be against Timothy Bradley, "Desert Storm's" camp is welcoming the match-up with open arms, notwithstanding the relatively wide weight difference between both fighters. While Tim Bradley fights at 147 lbs, Miguel Cotto fights at 160 lbs. But for Diaz, it will not be an issue.

"A lot of people don't understand that Miguel Cotto comes from 140 (pounds) as well," Diaz continued. "He's not a big fighter, (but) he is a strong fighter."

"It will be something that, if it comes our way, of course, we'll take it," he continued. "That will be a good fight. Those styles make good fights."
