Paul Rudd is the newest superhero in town as he plays the "Ant-Man". Another Marvel original, the "Ant-Man" has already begun filming in San Francisco.
Rudd is Scott Lang in the movie. He plays the role of an ex-con and a thief who will later turn into a superhero. He will have the power to shrink or enlarge, whenever he needs to, thanks to the ingenuity of Dr. Hank Pym, plays by Michael Douglas.
Dr. Pym, a scientist and an inventor, creates the "Ant-Man" suit and becomes the mentor of Scott. According to Entertainment Weekly, he needs somebody to enter the company that he built and is now displaced from. He requires the help of "Ant-Man" so he can get his copyrighted technology back. Scott steals the shrinking suit and there starts his journey to becoming the reluctant hero. What is not known at this time is whether his mission is for a fair cause or not - or somewhere in the middle.
"Anchorman" star Paul Rudd is thrilled for the uniqueness of his role as the "Ant-Man". USA Today reported, "The way technology has advanced just in the last few years, picturing this world, what they can do with this kind of storyline and character, I thought this could be something that could be very strange and hasn't been seen before."
This movie is Rudd's first full-scale action movie. The Marvel superhero may not be as popular as the others (the likes of Ironman, Captain America, and Thor) but with a well-known actor as the lead and of course, with Marvel at the helm, this flick is sure to make it in the box-office. Under the direction of Peyton Reed ("The Break Up" and "Bring It On"), "Ant-Man" will have its US release on July 15, 2015.
Marvel Entertainment gives people its first look of Paul Rudd as the "Ant-Man" in its twitter account.
