"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 has not even started yet but multiple sources are already reporting that one of the three main characters will most likely not return for season 7.
Such shocking news claimed that one of three main actors, namely Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, will not return for season 7 because he or she has not yet signed the contract. As of late, the actual actor has not yet been named, according to HNGN.
The show's executive producer Julie Plec recently talked about the series at this year's Comic Con event, E! News reported.
"Everybody's under contract. I know that we've got plans for season six, we've got plans for season seven. I know that our bosses have plans for season eight, nine and ten. I said I want to be part of it as long as I know I could keep telling good stories and as long as the ensemble people that I work with want to be there and are committed and dedicated. So, so far so good, you know," Plec said.
When asked whether or not the show could potentially move forward even without one of three main characters, Plec said that it's highly possible, IBTimes noted.
"You'll see enough of them to make you happy and more as it goes along. They are by no means going to be off the air for six episodes. The mystery is where they are, what happened, are they dead, not dead, and what the hell are they going to do together, those two of all people?"
As of late, the show's executives are not yet closing their doors on the possibility of including all three main characters as long as they get to sign their contracts in time for season 7.
"The Vampire Diaries" returns Thursday, October 2, on the CW.
