Floyd Mayweather's next fight will be won by "Money" according to Roberto Duran. The Panamanian boxing legend also believes that Marcos Maidana won't stand a chance during the much-awaited rematch.
Floyd Mayweather's next fight aptly dubbed "Mayhem", will take place on September 13th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena is Las Vegas. It will be Round 13 from their first encounter in May, which had "Money" emerging victorious via majority decision.
As fight night draws closer, fans, the media, and the fighters themselves have already made their self-assessments regarding Floyd Mayweather's next fight. For "El Chino's" part, he expects the same outcome from his opponent, whom he believes he had overestimated in their previous encounter.
"He's not as good as people think," Maidana said in a report by Yahoo! Sports. "I was able to pin him to the ropes and land punches, so he's not as difficult or as invincible as people think. He's hittable."
"The only thing he can do is box and that's what he did in the first fight," Maidana continued. "He was moving a lot. What is he going to do? Move more?"
However, boxing legend Roberto "Hands of Stone" Duran recently offered his two cents regarding the rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana. Duran's take on the fight is the exact opposite from that of his Latino brethren.
"I say Mayweather," Duran told Marcos Villegas of Fight Hub. "For me, Mayweather lost the first match, but they gave it to him."
Duran also pointed out what in his opinion were the major flaws in Marcos Maidana's game. For him, "El Chino" will be doing the exact same thing in the rematch, in which Mayweather will be ready for this time around.
"Maidana, when you box him, he doesn't know what to do," Duran continued. "Maidana will do the same stuff. I think Mayweather will box him and he'll box him, make him miss and fail."
