When 'Thor' star Tom Hiddleston nominated Benedict Cumberbatch for the ALS ice bucket challenge, fan girls (and boys) eagerly waited for the 'Sherlock' star to accept it.

When he finally did, nobody was disappointed.

The two minute and eight second video featured the British actor not only urging his fans to donate and learn about ALS or amyotrophic lateral sceloris but also getting drenched with a bucket of ice cold water FIVE times.

The video starts out with Cumberbatch sitting cross legged on the ground with a note for placed behind him reading, "To donate text ICED55 £5 to 70070."

He shares that he was nominated three times already along with a brief background about ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.

He gets drenched by a bucketful of iced water before proceeding to nominate director Harvey Weinstein, singer Kylie Minogue, and race car driver Lewis Hamilton (he did the challenge in Belgium on Friday).

Benedict Cumberbatch's ALS ice bucket challenge doesn't end there however. The camera follows the actor into the shower (via a trail of wet clothes) and films him being doused for a second time.

In another scene, the 'Hobbit' star gets splashed again, this time in a suit and tie (while talking to Tom Hiddleston on the phone). It happens again as he tries to ride his motorcycle.

Running late and looking harried, he tries to run inside his car but ends up being splashed one last time. The video ends with a link for www.justgiving.com/mndassoc and the hashtag #ICEBUCKETCHALLENGE.

The ice bucket challenge benefits the ALS Foundation and has gathered $53.3 million so far. Other actors, actresses, singers, CEOs and even presidents have joined the cause by doing the challenge as well as donating to the foundation. Cumberbatch is set to appear in the third 'The Hobbit' film as the dragon Smaug. He will also go on stage as Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' next year, before getting back into his 'Sherlock' character for BBC1.
