Nick Cannon is making it clear that the impending divorce with Mariah Carey is his decision.
The "America's Got Talent" host reportedly left his wife due to concerns for her "emotional state," according to the Mirror UK.
"Nick has made it clear to all involved. . . he's deeply concerned about Mariah's emotional state and is ending the marriage for the well being of their kids. He believes the environment around Mariah is toxic and fears for his kids," a source stated.
Nick Cannon reportedly believes that Mariah Carey's primary concern is making money, according to the website madamenoire.com.
Cannon also reportedly wants to create an environment separate from Mariah Carey after the divorce so that he can give his kids, Moroccan and Monroe, a place away from the "chaos" at her home.
Cannon slammed rumors that the couple's divorce was due to infidelity and reportedly stated that his "main focus" are his twins.
Mariah Carey has yet to speak out on the rumored split.
"Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour. I don't comment on Mariah's personal life," a representative for the 44-year-old singer told Us Weekly.
Cannon is reportedly taking a "passive" role in the divorce, telling his lawyers to "take the path of least resistance to end things as peacefully as possible," according to TMZ.
