Selena Gomez Instagram post is a comment against bullying.
There was a break in the usual trend of posts in Selena Gomez Instagram account. The singer posted a photo comment yesterday about the issues real teenagers face in the campus: bullying.
Gomez previously revealed she wasn't one of the "cool" ones in high school, but she was lucky enough to be spared from bullies herself. Selena had a cousin on the cheerleading team who bumped up her reputation enough not to be the school pariah.
With a new school season starting this August, Selena made sure her fans take the initiative against bullying, with a message posted on her Instagram account.
Her message read: "Special request to all you kids returning to school in August. If you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because he/she doesn't have many friends or because they are shy or not as pretty or not dressed in the most 'in' clothes - PLEASE step up. Say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway.
You never know what that person might be facing outside of school. Your kindness might just make a BIG difference in someone's life. Parents and grandparents should re-post this."
Selena Gomez Instagram post has 531,000 likes and counting, with followers commenting in agreement.
Selena's present fame was hard-earned, and in a 2012 Disney Channel interview she shared her struggles to cope during her high school years.
"I was never the popular kid at school. I had two friends, but I just sat at the back of the room and got on with my work. School is such an awkward time in your life. I was never confident in school."
Apparently, Selena Gomez Instagram post was also directed towards social media bullies, biting back against a follower who made an offensive comment about cancer on one of her July posts.
"You can dislike someone but to wish something that could happen to you or your family is uncalled for sweetheart." (source: yahoo.com)
