"Indiana Jones 5" is a movie that Indiana Jones, himself, is looking forward to. Although there have been multiple reports that have stated that Ford was going to be replaced by other actors, namely Chris Pratt and Sean Connery, Ford has stated that he can play the part, if given the chance.
Ford has actually been involved in a lot of the huge film franchises that the world has already seen. He has been known all over the world for his performance in the "Star Wars" franchise and "Indiana Jones." However, according to critics, his most recent successful franchise movie was "The Expendables 3."
In "The Expendables 3," Ford starred as the head of the CIA Max Drummer. This has been his role since the first movie "The Expendables." However, Ford almost did not return of the third "Expendables" flick. As shared by Sylvester Stallone, who was also a producer of the said film franchise, it took quite some time for him to finally convince Ford to return to the third film.
Moreover, Stallone informed The Belfast Telegraph that he had to spend a good portion of his birthday talking on the phone with Ford, trying to convince him to say 'Yes.' Stallone said, "It's very time-consuming. It takes a long time to convince some people. You're calling them for favors on your birthday and on the phone for four hours. You're like, 'It's my birthday. Do me a favor!' You do a lot of begging. It's wild."
To date, the highly anticipated "Indiana Jones 5" film is still yet to be confirmed. Many have speculated that Ford was hesitant to sign with Stallone because he had other plans, which was to return to another franchise which he had already previously opened up was his favorite.
Ford said about returning to 'Indiana Jones 5,' "I would do it in a New York minute. Yes, I don't think there is any barrier to Indiana Jones being an old fart. I'm old enough that we don't need Sean Connery any more. I'm old enough to play my own father!"
