The MTV Video Music Awards 2014 revealed winners from all music genres and did not disappoint music fans worldwide. Miley Cyrus made a tamed comeback after her controversial "We Can't Stop" performance last year and received the top Moonman for Video Of The Year, while pop and R&B diva Beyonce stole the show and took home the most number of Moonmen for this year's VMAs.
The MTV Video Music Awards 2014 winners were announced last August 24, Sunday at a star-studded event held at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
The list of MTV Video Music Awards 2014 winners was posted by Us Magazine soon after the event. Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" was named Video Of The Year over "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea, "Happy" by Pharrell, and "Chandelier" by Sia.
Also nominated for Video Of The Year for "Drunk In Love" was Beyonce, who took home the most number of Moonmen this year.
Beyonce's awards included Best Collaboration for "Drunk In Love" with husband and rap superstar Jay-Z. The award bested favorites such as Eminem and Rihanna's "Monster" and "Timber" by Pitbull and Kesha.
Beyonce's track "Pretty Hurts" took home two moonmen for Best Video With a Social Message and Best Cinematography.
The former "Destiny's Chils member" also received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Beyonce accepted the said lifetime achievement award after an epic 15-minute medley that ended with her husband Jay-Z and 2-year-old daughter Blue Ivy joining her onstage.
Other winners included Drake's Best Hip Hop Award for "Hold On (We're Going Home)" featuring Majid Jordan. Rappers nominated alongside Drake were Eminem, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, and Childish Gambino.
Former Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande received Best Pop for her song "Problem", with also featured Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. The song "Royals" by Lorde won Best Rock.
Ed Sheeran was named Best Male for his track "Sing", a collaboration with fellow nominee Pharrell. Katy Perry received Best Female for her Juicy J collaboration, "Dark Horse".
Fifth Harmony was named MTV Artist to Watch, besting fan favorites such as 5 Seconds of Summer and Charli XCX.
Other MTV Video Music Awards 2014 winners included Zedd ft. Hayley Williams' "Stay the Night" for Clubland Award, Sia's "Chandelier" for Best Choreography, Eminem's "Rap God" for Best Editing, and DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What" for Best Direction.
Additional Moonmen were also given for Arcade Fire's "Reflektor", for Best Art Direction. Ok Go also got the award for Best Visual Effects for "The Writing's On the Wall".
