Anderson Silva's comeback fight expects no trash talking from "MMA's Bad Boy" Nick Diaz. "The Spider" is also believed to be eyeing to regain the middleweight title.
Anderson Silva's comeback is scheduled for UFC 183 on January 31st against the controversial Nick Diaz, who will be moving up in weight at 185 pounds from 170 pounds to face the former pound-for-pound king of mixed martial arts.
With still five months away until fight night, a lot of buzz has already surrounded Anderson Silva's comeback in the UFC. But according to the fighter's manager Ed Soares, Nick Diaz himself would be the game-changer for the pre-fight festivities. They expect the brash and usually outspoken fighter to tone down the verbal war this time around.
"I think he's prepared to deal with that, but I honestly believe that Nick Diaz is going to take a different approach," Soares told Submission Radio. "I don't think Nick Diaz has anything personal against Anderson Silva. I think Nick Diaz looks at Anderson Silva as a true, real martial art challenge and he believes he's got what it takes to be able to fight him."
"Most of the time Nick Diaz doesn't start off with the trash talking," he added. "It's normally somebody else that starts off with the trash talking and he kinda finishes it off. But Nick Diaz overall, I don't see him much as a guy that starts off talking trash."
Anderson Silva will be competing as a non-title holder for the first time at UFC 183 since his debut with the company in 2006. And for Soares and the rest of the Silva camp, the comeback fight is expected to bring motivation for the former champion to regain the belt he lost.
"I think he'll be back and he'll go as far as he wants to apply himself to," Soares said. "I think if anybody can come back from an injury like this and come back and put that title around his waist again, if anybody in the world can do it it's Anderson Silva. "
